My name is Deepankar Sadekar and I’m based out of Mumbai. Cars have always been in my blood right from childhood. Living in the UAE gave me exposure to an infinite world of cars. And this passion for cars led me to turning it into profession by becoming an auto journalist. Following the auto industry and reviewing cars is something I love to do and wouldn’t trade it for any job in the world. Apart from that I love to travel and I feel road trips are more soulful than any means of transport.

I loved the Thar ever since I drove the first gen model while learning how to off-road. Always wanted to buy one and that dream ultimately came true in 2023. I now drive a second gen Thar petrol 4×4 hard top and never thought that buying a car would change my life forever in more ways than one.

I have never been part of any communities as such but owning a Thar got me to be part of Terrain Conquerers, founded by my dear friend and mentor Vishal Sharma. Joining TC opened up a whole world of adventure and thrill.

Apart from off-road trip and drives, I made new friends who I now call family. The feeling of community is unparalled. If you face a sticky situation or are stranded somewhere, someone will go out of their way to come and help. That’s the power of the TC community. That aside, the level of support I get on priority for any issues faced with the vehicle at the drop of a phone call or message. Hats off Vishal to keeping this a close-knit family that’s stands up for each other.

I bought the Thar because I love it. But I never imagined that one decision would change my life forever. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
